Da Milano parte una mobilitazione dal mondo del teatro e della cultura, aperta a tutti i cittadini che si compirà in un cammino metropolitano dal tramonto all’alba il 21 settembre 2019.
L’iniziativa, dal titolo NEL CUORE DELLA NOTTE, nasce in seguito a una lettera aperta a Mimmo Lucano, scritta da Alessandra De Santis, attrice e operatrice culturale di Milano e da successivi scambi e incontri con lo scrittore Antonio Moresco, con alcuni rappresentanti di Repubblica Nomade, con altri artisti e molte altre persone. Insieme si è deciso, quindi, di proporre un altro gesto carico di prefigurazione e visione, che coinvolgesse anche i corpi e che avrà la forma di un cammino metropolitano notturno.
Il nostro Paese, le nostre vite hanno attraversato e stanno attraversando un momento buio. Cose fino a poco tempo fa inimmaginabili sono accadute e stanno ancora accadendo sotto i nostri occhi e vengono ad assumere l’aspetto di normalità, nel costume, nella vita politica, sociale, nazionale, continentale, mondiale. C’è stata una rottura degli argini, si sta varcando una soglia di non ritorno, anche a livello planetario e di specie. Disumanità, avidità economica, ottusità, odio, sopraffazione, paura, conflitti identitari esasperati ad arte, razzismo, disprezzo, violenza sistematica e ferocia omicida contro la parte femminile dell’umanità hanno assunto un aspetto endemico e non più tollerabile, che ha a che vedere anche con i comportamenti, le parole e gli esempi che sono stati esibiti da chi fino a poco tempo fa aveva ruoli di governo e che, invece di governare i conflitti, ha gettato benzina sul fuoco per cinico calcolo elettorale. È come se si fosse scoperchiato un calderone ribollente e dalle sue viscere fossero straripati, insieme a passioni negative e miserie che ci sono sempre state, anche fantasmi e demoni che si credevano relegati in un terribile recente passato che ci illudevamo di esserci lasciato alle spalle.
Ma ci sono per fortuna anche spinte che si muovono controcorrente, e la speranza che trovino accoglienza nella nuova fase che si è appena aperta. C’è bisogno di rafforzarle, di aggiungere a queste luci sempre nuove luci, per dare vita a costellazioni.
Quello che si propone non è un cammino panoramico attraverso strade bianche e sentieri, ma un cammino metropolitano, notturno, dall’ora del tramonto del 21 settembre all’alba del giorno dopo, per dire che siamo tutti al buio ma che abbiamo bisogno di riprendere il movimento e di affrettare la fine di questo buio.
È una grande sfida pensare a un progetto comune tra persone che fino a poco tempo fa non si conoscevano affatto, non avendo alcuna struttura a sostegno dell’iniziativa, basandosi sul lavoro volontario e sull’assunzione di alcune responsabilità da parte di molti.
La natura, l’originalità, il sentimento, il messaggio, la carica simbolica, la possibilità di irradiazione di questo cammino stanno anche nel fatto che si svolge di notte, dal tramonto all’alba, nella città addormentata. In questi mesi, per fortuna, ci sono state e vengono organizzate molte altre manifestazioni su temi attuali e scottanti, contro il razzismo e il fascismo, contro il tentativo di conculcare diritti civili acquisiti ecc., alle quali si può partecipare e molti di noi partecipano con convinzione. Ma quello che vorremmo fare attraverso questo progetto è “mettere al mondo” qualcosa che porta con sé anche una novità di forma e linguaggio, che esprime una sua particolare verticalità e un diverso attrito nelle coscienze, avvalendosi della sensibilità non solo politica ma anche artistica di molti dei suoi artefici, per aggiungere -nel nostro piccolo- a quello che già c’è, qualcosa che ancora non c’è, per dare un contributo di lotta originale e a tutto campo nel nostro rischioso presente.
C’è bisogno di gesti spiazzanti e irradianti, non espressi solo a parole ma anche con un coinvolgimento psicofisico delle persone, che possano incidere sulle menti e sui cuori e ridare coraggio, allargando i possibili in un momento di pericolosa chiusura degli orizzonti.
Vi chiediamo di camminare con noi nel cuore della notte, di essere il cuore della notte.
Following an open letter to Mimmo Lucano and our political leaders, written by Alessandra De Santis, actress and cultural operator from Milan, a group of people from the theatre and cultural industry decided, to propose a public act of foreshadowing and visioning: NEL CUORE DELLA NOTTE - a political and poetical walk from sunset until dawn, that will take place in Milan on September 21st 2019, thanks also to the contribution of the writer Antonio Moresco.
Our country and our lives are undergoing a dark time. Things that were unimaginable not long ago, are now happening before our eyes and have assumed the appearance of normality: it encompasses habits, political life, and the social, national, continental and global frame. There has been a breach in the banks, a threshold of non-return is being crossed, even at a planetary and species level. Inhumanity, economic greed, callousness, hatred, oppression, fear, identity conflicts brought to perfection, racism, contempt, systematic violence and murderous ferocity against the female side of humanity: all this has assumed a scale that is endemic and no longer tolerable. It also touches on the behaviours, the words and the examples that are exhibited by those who have government roles and that, instead of governing the conflicts, add fuel to the fire to win votes.
It looks as if a boiling cauldron has been uncovered and from its bowels, along with ever-existing negative passions and miseries, even ghosts and demons that were believed relegated to a terrible recent past, believed left behind, are overflowing.
Fortunately there exist forces that are pushing upstream. We need to strengthen them, keep adding new lights to these lights, giving life to constellations.
We propose not so much a scenic walk through white roads and paths, but rather a metropolitan, nocturnal walk, from the hour of sunset to the following dawn, to say that we are all in the dark but that we need to resume moving, waiting together and hurrying the end of this darkness.
During this walk - which will take place in Milan on September 21st, 2019 - we imagined that there will be moments of rest, stations during which the walkers will meet people that in recent years have lived significant experiences. The walkers will be able to listen to their stories or readings by artists, scholars, writers.We ask those who are in tune with the motivations and feelings that animate this walk, to support it and make it their own by participating in person, contacting its promoters, supporting it as individuals and associations, from the initial phase of conception, preparation and organisation.
There is an urge for unsettling and radiant gestures, not only expressed through words but also with a psychophysical involvement of people, which could affect minds and hearts and restore courage, widening the possibilities in a moment of dangerous closure of horizons.
We ask you to walk with us in the heart of the night, to be the heart of the night.
NEL CUORE DELLA NOTTE
(Au coeur de la nuit)
une promenade politique et poétique du coucher du soleil jusqu'à l'aube
MILAN - 21 Septembre 2019
À la suite d’une lettre ouverte adressée à Mimmo Lucano et à nos dirigeants politiques, écrite par Alessandra De Santis, actrice et intervenante culturelle de Milan, un groupe de professionnels du théâtre et de l’industrie culturelle, après une série de discussions et de réunions, a proposé une manifestation publique de solidarité: une promenade collective.
Notre pays et nos vies traversent une période sombre. Des choses qui étaient inimaginables il n'y a pas si longtemps se passent maintenant sous nos yeux et ont pris l'apparence de la normalité:
elles englobent les habitudes, la vie politique et le cadre social, national, continental et mondial. Un seuil de non-retour a été franchi, même au niveau planétaire et pour les espèces. Inhumanité, avarice économique, insensibilité économique, colère, oppression, peur, conflits identitaires poussés à l’extrême, racisme, mépris, violence systématique et meurtre à l’encontre des femmes: tout cela a pris une ampleur endémique et inacceptable. Cela concerne également les comportements, les propos et les modèles présentés par ceux qui assument des rôles au sein du gouvernement et qui, au lieu de traiter les conflits, mettent de l’huile sur le feu pour gagner des élections.
On dirait qu'un volcan est entré en éruption et que ses entrailles se sont ouvertes, avec ses passions négatives, ses misères, ses fantômes et ses démons. On aurait crû que tout cela avait été relégué dans un terrible passé récent.
Heureusement, il y a des forces qui poussent en avant en offrant de nouvelles lumières formant de nouvelles constellations.
Nous ne proposons pas une manifestation de rue dans la journée mais une promenade nocturne urbaine, de la tombée du jour à l'aube suivante, pour dire que nous sommes dans le noir, qu'il faut recommencer à bouger, à être ensemble mettre fin au plus vite à cet obscurantisme.
Au cours de cette promenade - qui aura lieu le 21 septembre 2019 - nous avons imaginé qu'il y aura des moments de repos au cours desquels les promeneurs pourront écouter des récits ou des lectures d'artistes, d'universitaires ou d'écrivains. Nous demandons à ceux qui sont en accord avec ce projet de le promouvoir et de le soutenir en tant qu'individus et associations, dès la phase initiale de conception, de préparation et d'organisation.
Il existe un besoin urgent de gestes forts et inspirants qui ne s’expriment pas seulement par les mots, mais pas une implication physique et morale des personnes, qui pourrait toucher le coeur et l’esprit dans un moment crucial où les horizons paraissent bouchés.
Nous vous demandons de marcher dans le coeur de la nuit avec tout votre coeur.

(En el corazón de la noche)
un paseo politico y poetico desde el atardecer hasta el amanecer
MILAN - 21 de Septiembre de 2019
Tras una carta abierta a Mimmo Lucano y nuestros líderes políticos escrita por Alessandra De Santis, actriz y operadora cultural de Milán, un grupo de personas de la industria teatral y cultural decidieron proponer un acto público de imaginación: un paseo colectivo.
Nuestro país y nuestras vidas atraviesan tiempos oscuros. Lo que era inimaginable no hace mucho es ahora cotidiano: en los hábitos, la vida política , el marco social, nacional, continental y global.
Una época de crisis económica, ecológica y humana. Cruzamos un punto de no retorno.
Inhumanidad, avaricia económica, insensibilidad, odio, opresión, miedo, conflictos de identidad llevados a su máxima expresión, racismo, desprecio, violencia sistemática y feminicidios: todo esto ha alcanzado una escala endémica e intolerable. Aquellos que participan de los gobiernos buscan en estas confrontaciones una fuente de votos.
Parece como si se hubiera destapado una olla en ebullición y, que desde sus entrañas, junto con las pasiones y miserias sempiternas, los fantasmas y demonios que se creían de un terrible pasado reciente, se desbordasen.
Afortunadamente también hay fuerzas empujando río arriba. Necesitamos alentarlas, aportar más luces a estas luces, dar vida a las constelaciones.
Proponemos no tanto un paseo por las calles y caminos; sino más bien un paseo nocturno, metropolitano; desde el atardecer hasta el amanecer; para decir que estamos en la oscuridad, que debemos continuar moviéndonos y apresurar juntos el final de esta etapa.
Durante esta caminata, que tendrá lugar el 21 de septiembre de 2019, imaginamos que habrá momentos de descanso, paradas durante las cuales los caminantes conocerán a gente que ha pasado por experiencias remarcables en los últimos años. Podrán escuchar sus historias o lecturas de artistas, estudiantes y escritores. Pedimos a aquellos que están en sintonía con las motivaciones y sentimientos que animan este paseo, que lo apoyen y lo hagan propio participando en persona, contactando promotores, ayudando individualmente o desde asociaciones, desde la fase inicial de concepción, preparación y organización.
Hay una necesidad urgente de gestos luminosos, no solo expresados a través de palabras, sino también con una participación psicofísica de gente que pudiera llegar al corazón y a la mente e infundir coraje, ampliando las posibilidades en un momento de estrechamiento de horizontes.
Os pedimos que caminéis con nosotros en el corazón de la noche, que seáis el corazón de la noche.

- Im Herzen der Nacht
Ein Spaziergang von Sonnenuntergang bis zum Morgengrauen
MAILAND - 21. September 2019
Am 19. Juni 2019 verfasste Alessandra De Santis – Schauspielerin und Kulturschaffende aus Mailand – einen offenen Brief an Mimmo Lucano und unsere Regierung.
Im Anschluss entschloss sich eine Gruppe aus dem Theater- und Kulturbereich zu einer Geste der Vorausdeutung und Vision: einem kollektiven Spaziergang.
Unser Land und unsere Leben durchschreiten eine dunkle Zeit Dinge, die bis vor kurzem unvorstellbar waren, geschehen jetzt vor unseren Augen und erwecken den Anschein von Normalität: Sie umfassen Gewohnheiten, politisches Leben und den sozialen, nationalen, kontinentalen und globalen Rahmen. Dämme sind gebrochen, eine Grenze der Unumkehrbarkeit wurde überschritten, sogar auf Planeten- und Artenebene. Unmenschlichkeit, wirtschaftliche Gier, Abgestumpftheit, Hass, Unterdrückung, Angst, zur Perfektion getriebene dentitätskonflikte, Rassismus, Verachtung, systematische und patriarchalische Gewalt und mörderische Grausamkeit. All das hat ein umfassendes und nicht mehr tolerierbares Ausmass erreicht. Dies zeigt sich auch in den Worten und Taten der Regierenden, welche anstatt Konflikte zu lösen, weiter Öl in das Feuer giessen, um Stimmen zu gewinnen. Somit lassen sie auch tot geglaubte Gespenster und Dämonen wieder auferstehen, welche wir in die jüngste, schreckliche Vergangenheit verbannt hatten.
Glücklicherweise gibt es Kräfte die gegen den Strom schwimmen. Wir möchten sie stärken,
diesen Lichtern immer neue Lichter hinzufügen und Sternenbilder zum Leben erwecken.
Wir stellen uns weniger eine landschaftlich reizvolle Wanderung über unbefestigte Straßen und Wege vor, sondern vielmehr eine großstädtische, nächtliche Reise vom Sonnenuntergang bis zur Morgendämmerung. Damit möchten wir gemeinsam diese Dunkelheit ausharren, durchleben und dann die Bewegung wieder aufnehmen, um so das Ende dieser Dunkelheit herbeizuführen.
Während diesem Spaziergang am 21. September 2019 soll es Momente des Innehaltens geben. Menschen mit eindrücklichen Erfahrungen werden den Spazierenden ihre Geschichten erzählen und Künstler*innen, Wissenschaftler*innen und Schriftsteller*innen lesen aus ihren Werken.
Wer im Einklang mit diesen Gedanken ist, wen diese Reise anregt, darf sich diese zu eigen machen! Ob als Einzelpersonen oder Vereinigung – Teilnahme am Spaziergang, direkte Unterstützung der Konzeptionsphase, Hilfe bei der Vorbereitung und Organisation und weitere Ideen sind willkommen.
In einem Moment, wo der Horizont sich zusammenzieht reichen Worte nicht mehr aus. Wir Menschen brauchen aufreibende Gesten, die über den Verstand hinaus direkt das Herz berühren, unseren Zusammenhalt stärken und unseren Mut wiederherstellen.
Wir bitten euch mit uns im Herzen der Nacht zu wandeln, um das Herz der Nacht zu werden.
